INA231 Module
The INA231 is a current shunt and power monitor with a 1.8V I2C-compatible interface (featuring 16 programmable addresses). This device monitors the shunt voltage drop and bus supply voltage, providing enhanced protection by asserting the ALERT pin when corresponding values exceed programmed limits.
Programmable calibration values, conversion times, and averaging combined with an internal multiplier enable direct readings of current values in Amperes and power values in Watts, thus reducing the host processing load.
INA231 measures current on a bus voltage ranging from 0V to 28V and is powered by a single supply ranging from 2.7V to 5.5V, consuming 330μA (typical) of supply current. The operating temperature range for the INA231 is rated from -40°C to +125°C. There are two versions of the INA231: the INA231A starts up performing continuous conversions of shunt and bus voltage, whereas the INA231B starts up in a low-current shutdown mode; this module uses the INA231A version.
